Ubuntu Rock'n'roll

Ubuntu rocks! But will it roll?
In a message on the Ubuntu Developer Mailing List (see here), Rick Spencer has officially submitted to public debate the possibility of Ubuntu becoming a rolling release between the LTS releases. This isn't the first time that I hear rumors about this suggestion, but this time it will be discuses at the Ubuntu Developer Summit (the one that takes place next week).
What does this mean!?
The LTS (long term support) releases will remain as they are now, with a new version every two ears. The other three releases between each LTS will disappear and will be replaced by a daily (or monthly) build, with instant access to the latest updates. This would mean that you don't need to wait six months to get the newest software packages but you get them as soon as they are ready.
This would be the most amazing change since Unity was introduced, and it is already happening. The Ubuntu Touch Preview images used for the phones and tablets are released as Daily Builds.
